Bright, icy, and bursting with real strawberry flavor, this frozen lemonade is the kind of drink that makes a hot afternoon feel instantly better. It comes together with just a handful of fresh, whole ingredients — ripe strawberries, squeezed lemons, and a quick homemade simple syrup — so there's nothing mysterious hiding in the mix. Grain-based additives and thickeners can sneak into store-bought blended drinks and mixes more often than you'd expect, but blending everything from scratch here means you stay completely in control of what goes into your glass. The simple syrup takes only a few minutes on the stove, and once it's chilled, the whole thing blends up into a gorgeous, slushy drink in under a minute. You can nudge the sweetness or tartness at the end to suit your taste, which makes it feel genuinely personalized every single time. Garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint for a finish that looks as good as it tastes.

Combine the sugar and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes.
Add the hulled strawberries, lemon juice, cold water, ice cubes, and all of the chilled simple syrup to a blender. Blend on high until completely smooth and slushy, about 45–60 seconds.
