Bright, icy, and bursting with real fruit flavor, this frozen strawberry lemonade is the kind of drink that makes a hot afternoon feel instantly better. Store-bought versions of this classic are often loaded with synthetic preservatives like BHA and BHT to extend shelf life, but when you make it from scratch with fresh strawberries and squeezed lemon juice, none of that is a concern. The simple syrup comes together in just a few minutes on the stovetop, and once it's chilled, everything goes straight into the blender for a thick, slushy result that tastes genuinely homemade. Fresh lemon juice brings a bright tartness that bottled concentrate simply can't match, and the strawberries give it that gorgeous deep pink color with zero artificial anything. You can nudge the sweetness or tartness at the end to suit your taste, which makes it endlessly customizable. Garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint and it looks like something you'd pay way too much for at a café.

Combine the sugar and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes.
Add the hulled strawberries, lemon juice, cold water, ice cubes, and all of the chilled simple syrup to a blender. Blend on high until completely smooth and slushy, about 45–60 seconds.
