Summer sipping doesn't get much better than this — a vibrant, fruit-forward lemonade built on real strawberries, blueberries, and a homemade vanilla simple syrup that makes every glass feel a little special. The syrup is made by steeping a whole vanilla bean in warm maple syrup and water, which gives the drink a floral, caramel-like sweetness that no store-bought mix can replicate. Muddling the berries directly in the pitcher pulls out their natural juice and color, so the lemonade turns a gorgeous deep pink-purple before you've even added the lemon. Everything here is completely free of coffee, tea, and any other stimulants — just fresh fruit, citrus, and clean, simple ingredients. You can strain it smooth for a crystal-clear pour or leave the berry pulp in for something a little more rustic and textured. A handful of ice and a sprig of fresh mint finish it off beautifully. It's the kind of drink that looks like it came from a fancy café but comes together in your own kitchen with almost no effort.

Combine the maple syrup, 1/2 cup water, vanilla bean seeds, and the scraped pod in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the maple syrup is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes, then remove from the heat and let the syrup steep for 20 minutes.
Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a small bowl or measuring cup, discarding the vanilla pod. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
