That gorgeous blush-pink color comes entirely from real raspberries — no dye packets, no artificially tinted syrups, just fruit doing what fruit does best. The base starts with a quick stovetop raspberry syrup made from fresh berries, maple syrup, and water, which gets strained smooth before being stirred together with freshly squeezed lemon juice and cold water. Store-bought lemonades and flavored drinks are some of the sneakiest sources of synthetic dyes, so making your own from scratch is genuinely the easiest way to sidestep the whole issue. The result is bright, tart, and just sweet enough — the kind of drink that looks like it took way more effort than it actually did. A handful of ice, a lemon slice, and a sprig of fresh mint turn it into something you'd happily serve at a backyard gathering or a lazy weekend brunch. Every single ingredient is exactly what it sounds like, which is a rare and refreshing thing.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the raspberries break down completely and the mixture is bubbling and slightly thickened, about 4–5 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the seeds and pulp. Let the raspberry syrup cool for 15 minutes.
