Bright, herby, and layered with citrus depth, this homemade lemonade is the kind of drink that makes you want to sit on a porch and stay there. The combination of fresh lemon juice and orange juice gives it a complexity that store-bought versions simply can't match, while a maple syrup–based mint simple syrup adds a floral sweetness that feels genuinely special. Because the syrup is made from scratch with just maple syrup, water, and fresh mint, you know exactly what's going into your glass — no mystery additives, no hidden ingredients to second-guess. Navigating beverages when you're avoiding seeds can be trickier than it sounds, since some commercial drinks and flavored syrups sneak in unexpected extras, but every component here is clean and straightforward. The mint steeps gently in the warm syrup, then gets strained out completely, leaving behind a beautifully fragrant base that ties the whole pitcher together. It's easy to tweak to your taste — a little more lemon for tartness, a splash more water if you want it lighter — so it always comes out exactly right. Pour it over ice with a few citrus slices and you've got something that looks as good as it tastes.

Combine the maple syrup and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the syrup is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add the mint leaves to the warm syrup and press them gently with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon until fragrant. Let the mint steep for 10 minutes, then strain out and discard the leaves.
