Bright, citrusy, and kissed with fresh mint, this homemade lemonade is the kind of drink that makes you want to sit outside and do absolutely nothing productive. The combination of fresh lemon juice and orange juice gives it a layered tartness that store-bought versions just can't replicate. A maple syrup simple syrup — steeped with real mint leaves and then strained smooth — adds gentle sweetness and an herbal lift that feels genuinely special. Every single ingredient here is naturally free from tree nuts of any kind, so there's no label-scanning or cross-contamination anxiety to worry about. It's also easy to tweak on the fly: a little extra lemon if you like it sharp, a splash more water if you want it lighter. Serve it over ice with a few citrus slices and a sprig of mint, and it looks like something from a café menu with almost zero effort.

Combine the maple syrup and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the syrup is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add the mint leaves to the warm syrup and press them gently with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon until fragrant. Let the mint steep for 10 minutes, then strain out and discard the leaves.
