2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 cups buttermilk
2 large eggs
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 tsp vanilla extract
neutral oil butter or melted butter, for greasing the iron

Instructions

1
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl until combined.
2
In a separate area of the bowl or in a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir with a whisk just until no dry streaks remain — the batter will be slightly lumpy; do not overmix.
