Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Heat 1 tbsp of the olive oil in a 12-inch oven-safe skillet over high heat until the oil just begins to smoke. Add the tenderloin and sear, turning with tongs every 1–2 minutes, until deeply browned on all sides, about 6–8 minutes total. Lay the thyme sprigs and rosemary sprigs alongside the beef in the pan.
