Bright, tangy, and flushed with the color of fresh summer berries, this strawberry lemonade is the kind of drink that makes a whole pitcher disappear before you know it. The strawberry syrup is made by gently simmering real fruit with sugar and water, then straining it into a silky, jewel-toned liquid that blends beautifully with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Every single ingredient here is clean and straightforward โ fruit, sugar, water, and citrus โ so there's absolutely nothing to second-guess if you're avoiding thickeners or stabilizers. Many store-bought lemonades and flavored syrups sneak in additives to improve texture or shelf life, but this one gets its gorgeous body entirely from the natural pectin in the strawberries. The balance of sweet syrup against sharp lemon juice is genuinely craveable, and a little extra sugar can be stirred in at the end if you want it a touch softer on the palate. Poured over ice and finished with a fresh berry or lemon round, it looks like something from a restaurant patio โ but it comes together in your own kitchen with almost no effort.

Combine the strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the strawberries soften and release their juices, about 5โ7 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the syrup cool for 5 minutes, then pour it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 20โ25 minutes.
