There is something undeniably refreshing about a glass of homemade lemonade, and adding a vibrant strawberry syrup takes it to a whole new level. Fresh strawberries are simmered down with sugar and water until they release their gorgeous ruby juices, then strained into a silky syrup that blends beautifully with bright, tangy lemon juice. Every sip tastes like peak summer in a glass. The whole thing comes together in a single pitcher, making it just as easy to whip up for a lazy afternoon as it is to serve at a backyard gathering. Since everything here is made from scratch with simple, plant-based ingredients, you know exactly what's going into your glass โ no mystery additives or artificial dyes. Garnish with a few fresh strawberry slices or lemon rounds and it looks almost too pretty to drink. Almost.

Combine the strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the strawberries soften and release their juices, about 5โ7 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the syrup cool for 5 minutes, then pour it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 20โ25 minutes.
