Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 2ā3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the syrup cool for at least 10 minutes before using. (Extra syrup keeps refrigerated in a sealed jar for up to 2 weeks.)
Fill a cocktail shaker or large jar with a lid halfway with ice. Add the pomegranate juice, lime juice, and 2 tbsp of the cooled simple syrup. Seal and shake vigorously for 15ā20 seconds until well chilled.
