Few drinks capture the feeling of a slow summer afternoon quite like a tall glass of peach iced tea, and this homemade version is genuinely hard to beat. The secret is the fresh peach syrup — ripe peaches simmered down with sugar and water, then strained into a silky, fragrant concentrate that tastes nothing like the artificial stuff. It gets stirred right into a pitcher of brewed black tea, giving you that perfect balance of bold, slightly tannic depth and sweet, floral fruitiness. Every single ingredient here is straightforward and naturally free of tree nuts, so there's no label-reading required and no hidden surprises lurking in the mix. Garnish with a few peach slices and a sprig of fresh mint and it looks like something you'd order at a fancy café. Make a big pitcher and keep it in the fridge — it only gets better as it chills.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
