There is something deeply satisfying about a glass of homemade peach iced tea on a warm afternoon, and this version delivers that sun-ripened sweetness in every sip. The real star is the fresh peach syrup — ripe peaches simmered down with sugar and water until they're soft and fragrant, then strained into a silky, golden concentrate that infuses the whole pitcher. Brewed black tea gives it a gentle depth and just enough tannin to balance the fruit, so it never tips into cloying territory. Because every ingredient here is straightforward and whole, there's no need to scan labels or second-guess what's hiding in a store-bought mix. Garnished with fresh peach slices and a sprig of mint, it looks like something you'd order at a nice café — but it comes together right in your own kitchen. Pour it over a tall glass of ice and enjoy something genuinely refreshing that you made entirely from scratch.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
