Sweet, sun-ripened peaches and freshly brewed black tea come together in a pitcher drink that tastes like the best parts of summer in every sip. What makes this recipe such a smart choice is how completely from-scratch it is — you're cooking down real peaches with sugar and water to build a homemade syrup, so there's no reaching for store-bought concentrates, flavored syrups, or packaged mixes that might contain preservatives or synthetic additives you'd rather avoid. Parabens and similar compounds often sneak into processed food products as preservatives, but when you're working with whole fruit, plain sugar, water, and tea bags, you stay firmly in clean-ingredient territory. The syrup gets strained until it's silky smooth, then stirred right into the steeped tea for a drink that's naturally flavored and genuinely refreshing. Poured over ice and finished with a fresh peach slice or a sprig of mint, it looks like something you'd order at a nice café — except you made it yourself, and you know exactly what went into it.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
