There is something deeply satisfying about a tall glass of peach iced tea made entirely from scratch, and this version delivers that sweet, fruity refreshment without a single additive or emulsifier in sight. So many bottled and powdered iced tea mixes sneak in stabilizers and emulsifying agents to extend shelf life or improve texture — none of that is needed here. The peach syrup is built from just ripe peaches, sugar, and water, cooked down until the fruit softens and releases all its natural sweetness before being strained into a silky, golden liquid. That syrup gets stirred right into freshly brewed black tea, creating a drink that is clean, bright, and genuinely thirst-quenching. Garnished with fresh peach slices and a sprig of mint, it looks as good as it tastes. This is the kind of pitcher drink you make on a warm afternoon and find yourself refilling more than once.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
