Nothing says summer like a tall glass of iced tea, and this peach version takes it somewhere genuinely special. Ripe peaches are simmered down with sugar and water into a silky homemade syrup that brings a natural, jammy sweetness to every sip — no artificial flavoring needed. The whole recipe is built from pantry staples and fresh fruit, so there's nothing hidden to worry about, and it comes together with minimal effort. Straining the peach solids gives the syrup a smooth, clean finish that blends beautifully into the brewed black tea. Served over ice with optional peach slices and fresh mint, it looks like something you'd order at a nice café but costs a fraction of the price. It's the kind of drink that disappears fast at gatherings, so you might want to make a double batch.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
