Few drinks capture the feeling of a long summer afternoon quite like a cold glass of peach iced tea, and this homemade version is genuinely hard to beat. The secret is the fresh peach syrup — ripe peaches simmered down with sugar and water, then strained into a silky, fragrant concentrate that tastes nothing like the artificial stuff. It gets stirred right into a pitcher of brewed black tea, giving you that perfect balance of bold and sweet with real fruit flavor in every sip. Since the whole recipe is built from fruit, sugar, water, and tea bags, there's nothing hidden to worry about — no dairy, no surprises, just clean, refreshing ingredients. Garnish with a few peach slices and a sprig of fresh mint and it looks like something you'd order at a nice café. Make a big pitcher ahead of time and keep it in the fridge — it's the kind of drink that disappears fast.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
