There is something undeniably refreshing about a tall glass of homemade peach iced tea on a warm afternoon, and this recipe delivers that classic summer feeling from scratch. Fresh ripe peaches are simmered down with sugar and water into a silky, fragrant syrup that gives the tea a natural sweetness you simply cannot get from a bottle or powder. The syrup gets strained smooth before it meets the brewed black tea, so every sip is clean, bright, and perfectly balanced. Because this drink is built entirely from whole fruit, tea bags, sugar, and water, there are no hidden additives or processed flavorings to second-guess — just pure, simple ingredients you can feel good about. Garnished with fresh peach slices and a sprig of mint, it looks as gorgeous as it tastes and is genuinely impressive to set out for guests. Keep a pitcher chilled in the fridge and you will find yourself reaching for it again and again all season long.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
