There is something deeply satisfying about a tall glass of peach iced tea made entirely from scratch, and this version delivers that sweet, fruity refreshment without a drop of artificial dye or synthetic flavoring. Store-bought versions and flavored drink mixes are notorious for sneaking in artificial colors to achieve that golden-orange hue, but here the gorgeous tint comes naturally from real, ripe peaches simmered down into a silky homemade syrup. The process is straightforward — you cook the peaches with sugar and water, strain out the solids, brew a strong black tea base, and bring it all together in one pitcher. What you get is a drink that tastes genuinely peachy, not like a candy approximation of the fruit. Chilled over ice and finished with fresh peach slices and mint, it looks stunning on a table without any help from a dye bottle. It's the kind of drink that makes summer feel a little more intentional.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
