There is something undeniably refreshing about a tall glass of peach iced tea on a warm afternoon, and this homemade version delivers that sweet, fruity satisfaction in the most satisfying way. The real star is the from-scratch peach syrup — ripe peaches simmered down with sugar and water until they're soft and fragrant, then strained into a silky, golden concentrate that infuses every sip with genuine fruit flavor. Brewed black tea forms the backbone, giving the drink just enough depth and body to balance all that peachy sweetness. Because every single ingredient here is whole and straightforward, there's zero guesswork about what's actually in your glass — no store-bought mixes, no mystery additives, just fruit, tea, and sugar. Garnished with fresh peach slices and a sprig of mint, it's as pretty as it is delicious, and it looks like something you'd pay way too much for at a café. Keep a pitcher in the fridge and you'll find yourself reaching for it all week long.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool for 5 minutes, then press it through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
