3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1 ½ tsp salt
2 tbsp vegetable oil

For the egg wash

1 egg white
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1
Combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer and let stand for 5–8 minutes, until the surface is foamy and the mixture smells yeasty.
2
Add the flour, salt, and vegetable oil to the yeast mixture. Mix on low speed with the dough hook until the flour is incorporated and no dry streaks remain, about 2 minutes, then increase to medium speed and knead for 7–8 minutes, until the dough is smooth, slightly tacky, and pulls cleanly away from the sides of the bowl.
