Few summer dishes hit quite like a perfectly cooked ear of corn, and this stripped-down version lets the natural sweetness of fresh kernels do all the talking. With just salted boiling water and a pat of real butter, there's no need for flavored seasonings, seasoning blends, or packaged sauces that often sneak in synthetic additives. Fresh corn is one of those rare ingredients that genuinely doesn't need any help — a quick four-to-five-minute boil is all it takes to coax out that bright, juicy flavor. The butter melts right into every ridge, and a little salt and pepper at the end is the only finishing touch you'll ever need. It's the kind of recipe that reminds you why simple, whole ingredients are almost always the better choice. Serve it straight off the platter while it's still steaming and watch it disappear before anything else on the table.
