Fresh blackberries and bright lime juice are the real stars here, delivering bold, natural flavor without a single pinch of added salt anywhere in the process. That matters more than it might seem β plenty of cocktail mixes and pre-made syrups sneak in sodium, so building everything from scratch gives you full control over what's actually in your glass. The homemade simple syrup comes together in just a few minutes on the stovetop, and from there it's all muddling, mixing, and pouring. Crushing the blackberries and mint together releases a gorgeous deep purple juice that swirls through the rum and lime in a way that looks almost too pretty to drink. A generous pour of sparkling water at the end keeps things light and effervescent, making this feel genuinely refreshing rather than heavy or syrupy. It's the kind of drink you'll want to make on repeat all summer long.
