Few drinks are as satisfying as a tall, ice-cold Arnold Palmer on a warm afternoon, and this homemade version is genuinely hard to beat. It's a simple half-and-half blend of freshly brewed black tea and bright, tangy lemonade made with real lemon juice — no shortcuts, no mystery ingredients. That matters more than you might think, because bottled teas and lemonades from the store often sneak in seed oils through added flavorings, emulsifiers, or preservatives that don't always make it onto the front label. Here, everything is completely transparent: water, tea, sugar, and fresh citrus, full stop. The homemade simple syrup keeps the sweetness smooth and well-integrated, while steeping the tea bags without squeezing them ensures a clean, non-bitter base. Garnished with lemon slices and a sprig of fresh mint, it looks as good as it tastes. This is the kind of drink you'll want to keep a pitcher of in the fridge all week.

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add the 4 tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags without squeezing them, then stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
While the tea cools, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water in the saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved and the syrup is clear, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
