Few drinks are as satisfying as a tall, ice-cold Arnold Palmer on a warm afternoon, and this homemade version is genuinely hard to beat. The combination of bold black tea and bright, freshly squeezed lemonade strikes that perfect balance between refreshing and subtly sweet. Making your own simple syrup from scratch means you control exactly how sweet the lemonade gets, and using real lemon juice instead of a bottled mix makes a noticeable difference in flavor. This is naturally free from grains and any oat-derived ingredients, so there's zero label-reading stress — just clean, simple ingredients you can feel good about. A few lemon slices and a sprig of fresh mint take the presentation from casual to genuinely impressive without any extra effort. It's the kind of drink that disappears fast, so you may want to double the batch before your guests even arrive.

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add the 4 tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags without squeezing them, then stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
While the tea cools, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water in the saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved and the syrup is clear, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
