Few drinks are as effortlessly refreshing as a half-and-half of bold black tea and bright, tangy lemonade — the kind of glass you want in your hand the moment the temperature climbs. This version is made entirely from scratch, starting with a simple homemade syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice that gives the lemonade a clean, vibrant tartness you just can't get from a powder or a bottle. The tea is steeped gently and cooled before combining, so the final drink stays smooth and balanced rather than bitter. Everything comes together in a single pitcher, making it easy to scale up for a crowd or keep chilled in the fridge for whenever the craving hits. Garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint, it looks as good as it tastes. Since every ingredient here is a whole, recognizable pantry staple, there's zero guesswork about what's actually in your glass — just pure, crowd-pleasing refreshment.

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add the 4 tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags without squeezing them, then stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
While the tea cools, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water in the saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved and the syrup is clear, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
