Few drinks hit quite like a cold, refreshing Arnold Palmer on a warm afternoon, and this homemade version is genuinely hard to beat. It's a simple, satisfying blend of freshly brewed black tea and bright, tart lemonade made with real lemon juice — none of the powdered mix stuff. The lemonade starts with a quick homemade simple syrup that dissolves cleanly into the fresh-squeezed juice, giving you that perfectly balanced sweet-tart flavor you just can't get from a bottle. Everything here is naturally free from nuts and tree nuts of any kind, so there's zero need to scan labels or worry about what's hiding in a store-bought blend. Served over ice with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint, it looks as good as it tastes. This is the kind of drink that disappears fast at a backyard gathering — make a big pitcher and don't say you weren't warned.

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add the 4 tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags without squeezing them, then stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
While the tea cools, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water in the saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved and the syrup is clear, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
