Few drinks hit quite like a cold, freshly made Arnold Palmer on a warm afternoon — that perfect balance of bold black tea and bright, tart lemonade is genuinely hard to beat. This version is made entirely from scratch, starting with steeped tea and a quick homemade simple syrup that keeps the sweetness smooth and even throughout the drink. Fresh lemon juice is the real star here, giving the lemonade a vibrant, citrusy punch that bottled versions just can't replicate. The tea is handled carefully — steeped without squeezing the bags — so you get a clean, mellow brew without any bitterness creeping in. Everything comes together in a single pitcher, making it easy to pour over ice and serve a crowd. A few lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs on top turn it into something that looks as good as it tastes.

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add the 4 tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags without squeezing them, then stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
While the tea cools, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water in the saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved and the syrup is clear, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
