Chef's tip
Choose a gluten-free baking blend labeled 1:1 or cup-for-cup and use the same amount. Almond and coconut flour won't work the same way.
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp fine salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1 cup packed light brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
flaky sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

1
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the two long sides.
2
Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl until combined.
