Fresh raspberries, real lemon juice, maple syrup, and sparkling water โ that's genuinely everything going on here, and the result is a drink that tastes brighter and more vibrant than anything poured from a bottle. So many store-bought sodas and flavored sparkling drinks sneak in artificial flavors, colors, or "natural flavor" blends that are anything but straightforward, making it hard to know exactly what you're sipping. This cooler sidesteps all of that by building its flavor from scratch: a quick stovetop syrup made with whole raspberries and lemon zest, strained until silky smooth, then stirred together with fresh-squeezed lemon juice and chilled sparkling water. The maple syrup adds a gentle, rounded sweetness that plays beautifully against the tart citrus without tasting heavy or cloying. A light stir at the end keeps the bubbles lively, so every glass lands crisp and refreshing. It's the kind of drink that looks stunning on a table โ especially with a lemon slice and a few fresh raspberries floating on top โ but requires almost no fuss to pull off.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, water, and lemon zest in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries gently with the back of a spoon, until the berries have broken down and the syrup is slightly thickened, about 8โ10 minutes.
Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a heatproof bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids. Let the strained syrup cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until fully chilled, at least 30 minutes.
