Fruit leather from the store is a minefield of additives, flavor enhancers, and ingredients you can't quite pronounce — but this homemade version keeps things beautifully clean. It starts with real cherries, a touch of honey, fresh lemon juice, and an optional whisper of Ceylon cinnamon, and that's genuinely all there is to it. The cherries get blended smooth and strained before being spread into a thin, even layer and slow-dried in a low oven until the surface is perfectly pliable and peel-ready. What comes out is a chewy, jewel-toned strip that tastes intensely of real fruit — tart, sweet, and deeply satisfying in a way that packaged snacks rarely manage. Rolling it up in parchment and slicing it into strips makes it feel almost like something from a specialty shop, except you know exactly what went into it. It's a genuinely fun kitchen project and a snack worth making on repeat.
