This recipe uses only a small amount of tomato per serving, which keeps the fructose load low and makes it likely Low Fructose. If you prefer to always avoid tomato, please tap it and change its rating to Red.


Drain the tofu and cut it into 4 equal slabs, each about 3/4 inch thick. Lay the slabs on a baking sheet lined with a double layer of paper towels, top with more paper towels, and set a second baking sheet on top. Press for 30 minutes, until the tofu feels noticeably firmer and the paper towels are damp.
In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, coarsely ground black pepper, cayenne, dried oregano, dried thyme, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
