Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, turning occasionally, until the fat has rendered and the strips are crisp, about 8β10 minutes. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate and pour off all but about 1 tsp of the drippings, leaving a thin film in the pan.
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 6 oz each) and gently form each into a patty roughly 4 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick. Press a shallow dimple into the center of each patty with your thumb. Season both sides evenly with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
