Freshly baked white bread is one of those simple pleasures that never gets old, and this bread machine version delivers a beautifully golden, pillowy loaf with almost zero hands-on effort. The ingredient list is refreshingly short — warm water, butter, sugar, salt, bread flour, and yeast — so there's nothing hidden to worry about, which is a genuine relief when you're avoiding anything that might trigger capsaicin sensitivity. Store-bought breads can be surprisingly tricky, sometimes sharing production lines with spiced or seasoned products, but baking your own at home puts you fully in control. The bread machine does all the heavy lifting, mixing and proofing and baking through a single cycle while you go about your day. Letting the loaf cool on a wire rack before slicing is the hardest part, but that patience pays off with a tender, even crumb that holds up beautifully for sandwiches or toast. It's the kind of reliable, comforting loaf you'll want to make on repeat.

Add the ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order listed: water, butter, sugar, salt, bread flour, and yeast. Make a small well in the center of the flour and pour the yeast into it, keeping the yeast away from the salt.
Insert the pan into the bread machine, select the Basic or White Bread cycle, choose your preferred crust color (medium is recommended), and press Start. The full cycle will run approximately 3 hours.
