Soft, pillowy dinner rolls fresh from the oven are one of those simple pleasures that feel genuinely special, and this bread machine method makes them completely approachable any night of the week. The ingredient list is refreshingly straightforward — warm water, butter, egg, flour, sugar, salt, and yeast — so you know exactly what's going into every bite, which matters a lot when you're being more mindful about what you eat. The egg adds a little richness and structure, while the butter keeps the crumb tender and the tops glossy after that final brush right out of the oven. Letting the bread machine handle the kneading and first rise means less time on your feet and less physical effort, which is a genuine win. Once the dough is ready, shaping the rolls is satisfying and low-stress — just 12 smooth little rounds tucked into a baking dish to puff up together. Baking to an internal temperature of 190°F takes the guesswork out of doneness, so you're never left wondering if the centers are fully cooked through. These are the kind of warm, golden rolls that disappear fast at the table, and you'll feel good knowing every ingredient in them is one you chose yourself.

Eggs are safe during pregnancy as long as they are cooked all the way through.

Add the ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your machine's manufacturer — typically liquids first. Add the warm water, softened butter, and egg, then add the flour, sugar, and salt. Make a small well in the center of the flour and add the yeast. Select the Dough cycle and press Start.
When the Dough cycle completes (typically 90 minutes, including kneading and the first rise), the dough should be smooth, slightly tacky, and roughly doubled in size. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
