Soft, golden, pull-apart dinner rolls are one of those things that feel almost magical to set on the table, and this bread machine version makes the whole process genuinely approachable. Every ingredient here is exactly what you'd expect — flour, butter, egg, sugar, salt, yeast, and warm water — with zero synthetic dyes or artificial additives hiding anywhere in the list. That matters more than it sounds, because store-bought rolls and packaged dough products can sneak in colorings you'd never anticipate just from looking at the finished product. Making them yourself means you know precisely what went into every bite. The bread machine handles the heavy lifting of kneading and the first rise, so by the time you're shaping the dough into twelve little rounds, the hardest part is already done. A brush of melted butter straight out of the oven gives them that irresistible glossy finish and rich flavor that makes people reach for seconds before the pan even hits the table. These are the kind of rolls that disappear fast, and you'll feel genuinely good about every ingredient that made them happen.

Add the ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your machine's manufacturer — typically liquids first. Add the warm water, softened butter, and egg, then add the flour, sugar, and salt. Make a small well in the center of the flour and add the yeast. Select the Dough cycle and press Start.
When the Dough cycle completes (typically 90 minutes, including kneading and the first rise), the dough should be smooth, slightly tacky, and roughly doubled in size. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
