This cocktail is a vibrant, fruit-forward twist on a classic Paloma, built around a homemade berry syrup that brings deep, jammy color and a natural sweetness you simply can't get from a bottle. Fresh grapefruit juice and a squeeze of lime keep things bright and tart, while blanco tequila ties it all together with a clean, smooth backbone. The berry syrup comes together in just minutes on the stovetop — berries, sugar, and water simmered until the fruit breaks down, then strained into a glossy, jewel-toned liquid that makes the whole drink look stunning. A splash of chilled sparkling water added at the end keeps every sip effervescent and refreshing. Every single ingredient here is naturally grain-free, so there's no need to scrutinize labels or worry about hidden grain-based additives sneaking into your glass. Garnished with fresh berries and a citrus wedge, this is the kind of drink you'd proudly serve at a summer gathering or a lazy weekend brunch.

Combine the berries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the berries break down and release their juices, about 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
Press the berry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a small bowl or jar, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. You should have about 3–4 tbsp of berry syrup.
