This vibrant, fruit-forward cocktail is everything a warm-weather drink should be — bright, bubbly, and just a little tart. A homemade berry syrup made from fresh or frozen mixed berries, sugar, and water forms the heart of the drink, giving it a deep jewel-toned color and natural sweetness that no bottled mixer can match. Blanco tequila, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, and a hit of lime juice round out the flavor with clean, citrusy punch, while a pinch of salt ties it all together. Because every ingredient here is whole and unprocessed, you never have to second-guess what's actually in your glass — no flavor enhancers, no mystery additives, just real fruit and fresh juice. The sparkling water gets poured gently down the side of the glass to keep those bubbles alive, so the first sip is as effervescent as it looks. Garnished with fresh berries and a citrus wedge, it's as beautiful to serve as it is to drink — the kind of cocktail that makes any occasion feel a little more special.

Combine the berries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the berries break down and release their juices, about 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
Press the berry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a small bowl or jar, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. You should have about 3–4 tbsp of berry syrup.
