This vibrant cocktail is everything a warm-weather drink should be — bright, a little tart, and absolutely stunning in the glass. A quick homemade berry syrup made from fresh or frozen mixed berries gives it a deep jewel-toned color and a natural sweetness that store-bought mixes simply can't match. The combination of blanco tequila, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, and a hit of lime keeps things crisp and citrusy, while a pinch of salt ties it all together in the best way. Topped with chilled sparkling water and garnished with fresh berries and a citrus wedge, it looks like something you'd order at a rooftop bar — but it comes together in minutes at home. Since the whole drink is built from fruit, juice, tequila, and sparkling water, there's nothing to second-guess ingredient-wise, making it a genuinely fuss-free pour. Shake it up for a dinner party, a backyard hang, or honestly just a Tuesday evening that deserves a little something special.

Combine the berries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the berries break down and release their juices, about 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
Press the berry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a small bowl or jar, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. You should have about 3–4 tbsp of berry syrup.
