This vibrant, fruit-forward cocktail is the kind of drink that makes any occasion feel like a celebration. Fresh grapefruit juice, a squeeze of lime, and a homemade berry syrup come together with blanco tequila and sparkling water for something that tastes genuinely special — not like a shortcut. Because every element is made from scratch using whole fruits and simple pantry staples, you sidestep the preservative-laden mixers and bottled syrups that often sneak BHA and BHT into otherwise straightforward drinks. The berry syrup is the real star here: just berries, sugar, and water simmered down and strained into a jewel-toned concentrate that adds depth and a gorgeous blush color to the finished glass. Shaking the tequila, juices, and syrup over ice before topping with chilled sparkling water keeps everything bright and perfectly balanced. It's refreshing, a little tart, and just sweet enough — the kind of cocktail you'll want to make again the moment the glass is empty.

Combine the berries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the berries break down and release their juices, about 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
Press the berry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a small bowl or jar, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. You should have about 3–4 tbsp of berry syrup.
