This fizzy, fruit-forward mocktail is the kind of drink that makes you feel like you're at a fancy brunch without leaving your kitchen. A quick homemade berry syrup — made by simmering fresh or frozen berries with raw honey and lemon juice — forms the gorgeous, jewel-toned base that store-bought mixers simply can't match. That matters more than it sounds, because many commercial flavored drinks and syrups sneak in synthetic preservatives like BHA and BHT to extend shelf life. By making the syrup yourself from whole ingredients and pairing it with plain unflavored kombucha, you stay completely clear of those additives. The kombucha brings a natural effervescence and gentle tang that plays beautifully against the sweet-tart berry syrup, no artificial anything required. A handful of ice and a few fresh mint leaves finish it off, turning two simple glasses into something genuinely impressive. It's refreshing, clean, and easy enough to pull together any time you want a drink that feels special without the ingredient label anxiety.

Combine the berries, honey, lemon juice, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring and pressing the berries with the back of a spoon, until the berries have broken down and the mixture is syrupy, about 4–5 minutes.
Pour the berry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a small bowl, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the berry syrup cool to room temperature, about 5 minutes.
