Fill a large pot with 1 inch of water and bring to a boil over high heat. Set a steamer basket inside, add the broccoli florets and chopped stems, cover, and steam until the broccoli is completely tender and a fork slides through the thickest stem piece with no resistance, about 10โ12 minutes. Transfer to a colander and let any excess steam escape for 1 minute.
While the broccoli steams, heat the coconut oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add the diced apple and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly golden at the edges, about 5โ6 minutes.
