In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and granulated sugar until evenly combined.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir with a spatula until just combined ā the batter will be thick and slightly sticky; stop as soon as no dry streaks remain.
