Pearled barley to prepare: use 2 to 3 cups liquid to 1 cup barley. Bring water or broth to a boil. Add barley, stir. Cover, reduce heat. Cook 35 to 40 mins. Or presoak overnight (2 parts liquid 1part grain) and cook for 15 minutes.
