Is lactitol low FODMAP?
Lactitol has not been tested for FODMAPs. However, Lactitol is thought to be high FODMAP. Lactitol is a sugar alcohol (polyol) used as a sweetener in calorie reduced and sugar free foods. Foods containing maltitol should be avoided on a low FODMAP elimination diet. Always test tolerance of untested foods like lactitol in small portions and only when your symptoms are fully settled. Possible FODMAPs: Mannitol, Sorbitol
