Applebee’s gluten policy:
Applebee’s does not use a dedicated gluten free fryer for its fries or nachos. Beware of cross-contamination.
Per the Applebee’s website: “Because we have multiple sources of allergens in our shared cooking and prep areas, including common fryer oil, we are unable to guarantee that any menu item can be completely free of allergens.”
Applebee’s allergen policy:
Per the Applebee’s website: “Because we have multiple sources of allergens in our shared cooking and prep areas, including common fryer oil, we are unable to guarantee that any menu item can be completely free of allergens. In addition, we use highly refined soybean oil in our fryers, which the FDA exempts from being labeled an allergen. Due to the complexity of our ingredients, other allergenic foods may be present in a menu item, but not declared on this section or menu.”
Applebee’s vegan / vegetarian information:
Applebee’s provides a vegan and vegetarian menu here: https://www.applebees.com/-/media/applebees/nutrition/applebees-vegan-and-vegetarian-guide-feb-2022210
Applebee’s vegan definition: “Applebee’s defines vegan as not containing any animal products or byproducts including meat, rennet, gelatin, eggs, dairy, or honey. Because we have multiple sources of animal products in our shared cooking and prep areas, including common fryer oil, we are unable to guarantee that any menu item be completely free of animal products or byproducts. Limited time offers, regional items, or test items may not be included.”
Applebee’s vegetarian definition: “Applebee’s defines vegetarian as lacto-ovo, allowing consumption of dairy and eggs but not any meat products, stock, rennet/animal enzymes, or gelatin. Because we have multiple sources of animal products in our shared cooking and prep areas, including common fryer oil, we are unable to guarantee that any menu item be completely free of animal products. Limited time offers, regional items, or test items may not be included.”

How to use Fig restaurants:
- Fig shows you menu items that likely fit your Fig based on publicly available restaurant-reported ingredients and allergens. If a menu item says “please read note,” click the menu item to understand why the item may or may not fit your Fig.
- Fig does not yet take cross-contamination into account. Please always confirm ingredient and allergen information with the restaurant, and always work with the restaurant manager and staff to determine if a menu item is appropriate for you. Restaurants regularly change ingredients, allergen information, procedures, food sourcing and management.
- Fig restaurants is still an early feature, and your feedback helps us make it better. If you have any ideas for us, please send them to support@foodisgood.com. We’ll also be sending you a few surveys as you use it!
