Dear Fig Members,

Happy February! It’s another exciting month for Fig. But before I dive into the updates, I wanted to thank each of you for helping us to change the world of food. Dietary restrictions are no fun, but I love that we’re coming together to make a difference *blush*

So, what’s new in February?

We’re testing a new feature on the app! Excited to find a new snack this week? Open Fig and try I’m Feeling Hungry on the Search tab. Think Tinder but for food 😀 I’d love to know what you think about it!

We’ve also been tackling gray scans (I hate them as much as you do!!). Since the new year, there have been 4,867 missing products added to Fig. THANK YOU to everyone who has submitted products. Together, we’ll keep building a more accurate and thorough food database. What else is coming in February?

  • 20 new grocery stores including Publix, Aldi, Big Y, Ingles and more (keep those Trader Joe’s scans coming so we can add it, too!)
  • An Alpha Gal diet filter (thank you to the Alpha Gal community for your incredible support)
  • Improved accuracy throughout the app (this will always be a focus)

I’d also like to take a moment to recognize Black History Month in the United States. Since 1928, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) has set a theme for Black History Month. Read more about this year’s theme, Black Health and Wellness, and check out some of the incredible ways that African Americans have influenced food (George Crum invented the potato chip!).

Thanks as always for helping us to build Fig. Check out Tyler’s TikTok for Fig updates, and follow my TikTok and Instagram for updates on my personal Low Histamine diet journey (I got a slow start in January due to Covid). Have a great day!
